Questions agencies ask
Short answers on what Lockmark is, what a scan means, and how to use it responsibly.
Is Lockmark a legal determination of authorship?
No. Outputs are advisory estimates of AI-likeness. They must not be used as the sole grounds for employment, academic, or contractual sanctions. Keep a human in the loop.
Why do you recommend 100+ words?
Short paste is noisier for every detector — including ours. Scans under the minimum still run with a reliability warning. Stable ship-gate decisions need longer drafts.
Which languages and markets?
German, Dutch, and English. Market hints cover Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria. English never triggers the DE/NL consultancy-register softener.
What do the bands mean?
Likely human / uncertain / mixed / likely machine are calibrated labels for editorial review — not guilt. Middle scores should be treated as uncertain, not as a firm call.
What is the consultancy / landing-page guard?
Some Dutch and German agency landing pages read as “smooth advice copy.” When that register would otherwise show as likely machine, Lockmark can soften to uncertain and cap the shown score, while keeping raw neural metrics available for inspection.
Is there a Chrome extension?
Yes — included with every seat. Pilots load it unpacked from
web/chrome-extension (see How it works).
Highlight text on a live page, run an AI or plagiarism check against your Lockmark API,
then open the draft in Studio. A public Web Store listing comes after hosted pilots.
Do you train on our drafts?
No — not by default. Processing is EU-hosted. Contact us if you need a written DPA for a pilot.
Can we share results with a client?
Yes. After a scan, open the scan report and print or save as PDF. The disclaimer travels with the report.
Is there an API?
Yes — see API docs. Pilot packages can include API access for CMS or internal tools. Same advisory disclaimer applies.
How is Lockmark different from a generic AI detector?
Many detectors serve education and high-volume paste traffic with free tiers and broad suites. Lockmark is an agency ship-gate for Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria — with German, Dutch, and English support, policy modes, voice/revision context, and HITL pilots — not a free paste-box or an accuracy crown claim.
